Every year, I invited Moms to come visit our classroom in February for Muffins with Mom. Often, the day fell on Valentines Day! I would make pumpkin muffins, mocha muffins, and banana muffins from scratch. I would get water bottles, apple juice boxes, and make Tim Horton's coffee. Fun napkins from the Dollar Tree. To Go cups from the grocery store.
As children were dropped off for school at 8:00am, Moms came in for coffee and a muffin!
We always made a cute little craft for our Mom. One year we made a craft with Mom. When every student had arrived, we would do a little program. We would pick out a favorite song to sing, quote our verse passage, and share a special poem we learned just for Moms.
They were always a blessing to my heart and many Moms had teary eyes. When you sit down in the classroom of your child and get to enjoy the view and fun learning atmosphere, it hits your heart with gratefulness for those who pour into your children. It matters where you put your children for school. It matters who is teaching your children. The content of the curriculum matters to the well being of your child's emotional, physical, social, psychological, academic, and spiritual development! Invite parents in to experience the environment their child spends time in daily. It will keep you accountable for the time that they pay for each day.
