Our curriculum includes a geography section that teaches about children around the world. We have fun learning facts about a few countries. We learn what children do, what they speak, what they eat, and other interesting things like animals, games, and land.
When we get done making our little booklets, we have a special Tastes Around the World day. The students and parents choose a country and food to share.
We all try a little of everything (as long as there are no food allergies).
The students show how much they have grown as they are willing to try things.
If they like something, they are welcome to go back for more!
If they don't like it, they leave it on their plate and say "No, thank you."
The parents always go above and beyond! I provide fun little plates, napkins, silverware, and a special drink (usually from Mexico). I tell them about trying it when Mr. T and I went there on vacation.
