We started with letter names. Next, we remembered letter sounds. Then, we built letter blends. Finally, we made short vowel and long vowel words.
We spent time reading two books to brush up on the skills he learned in Kindergarten this past year. "Can you believe that you are going to be in First grade soon?" His eyes got big! Not sure if he was excited or scared!
Taking time to review learned skills is a very helpful practice for little friends! We are working to build confidence as we look at August.
