Grandparents visit our classroom!

After the covid situation, we changed how we handled big gatherings.  In Kindergarten, we invited grandparents to visit our classroom for a short time and then children could go home with their grandparents.  We had to wait for everyone to arrive, so the students worked on their writing papers and grandparents "graded" their work and awarded stickers.  We sang a special song.  We quoted one of our poems and a passage of Scripture we had learned.  We also challenged grandpa and grandma to a Math game and read for them.
Students had made a special craft and then we shared a chocolate chip cookie treat (that Mrs. Tackeberry had made as a surprise) as a favor (for after lunch)!  They stayed with us for 45 minutes and then could leave with their grandchild (as long as it was pre-arranged with parents and communicated to school.  It was a short but sweet time...AND...it builds excitement for the Kindergarten program and graduation in May.
