I have used reading helps for many years in upper grades. Kindergarteners all learn at different times and in different ways! It is up to the teacher to keep presenting material in a variety of fun and meaningful ways. These were some of the friends we met from other online teachers...and I drew the pictures.
One day during our phonics lesson, one of my little thinker friends said that I needed to do one for the "L Cousins"! I stopped for a moment and realized he had made the connection...and even sweeter still...knowing what a big deal cousin time is to him and his family. Sometimes our friends get a far off stare...not because they are bored...because they are thinking a whole lot bigger than we think! Now to finally put that "L Cousin" poster together...Gl, Bl, Sl, Pl, Cl, Fl! Maybe I should ask him for help with the names!
