I am of the opinion that felt objects never go out of style! The are bright, colorful and durable. Students can use them to review many concepts and manipulate them many different ways, All you need are basic shapes or basic color book pictures or patterns easily found on google. A sharp pair of scissors makes the job less frustrating! To add details, use tacky glue or a glue gun. I will share other things I have made that have helped students visualize concepts and reinforced their learning and reviewing. Remember...how many senses are you inviting your students to use as they learn?
Hearts...for counting and for making little stuffed herts for children to hold and carry with them after Dad and Mom give it a kiss. I offer these at Orientation Night and explain what to do for the first day of Kindergarten.
Gumball machine with colored gumballs.
Circles to show whole, half, and fourths.
